Hi, my name's Kevin, and I am a modifier.
Yes, I admit it. For skill, novelty, or the hell of its sake, I modify workouts.
Take today.
Lots of new types of jumps I've never done or seen.
Round #1 I give it a go, realizing to execute the new movements I need to slow down, which means I dont get the same workout intensity.
So what do I do?
Modify baby, modify.
My workout today looked like this:
- Banded pushups
- Boxer skip variation
- Banded side plank Left
- Boxer skip variation
- Banded squat to one-arm row
- Boxer skip variation
- Banded side plank Right
Same intervals, same idea, and (hopefully) same results.
I'm Kevin and my confession is I modify: sometimes for my lack of skill, sometimes to mix up exercises, and sometimes to make it even harder.
