I'm with JP and Sean on this (I used to have to vary my steps to save my feet.) HOWEVER, I think there are things you can do. Lax ball. Someone once described stretching to me with a rubber band analogy. If you have a knot in a rubberband, what happens when you stretch it? The knot may get tighter and bother you less, but in terms of a body, you're probably creating (short-term length) in areas that aren't truly the problem. Take a lax ball (baseball, tennis ball, frozen water bottle, handle of a kettle bell, rolling pin -- basically anything about 2-3" in diameter and solid) and start "pinning" and rolling your calf over it. If you find spots that really need relief dig in with caution; hang out on those spots, roll it around bit. I do this with many different spots on my body (neck, gluts, lats, traps, triceps) and it really helps.
