hey jrd atheletes! just a quick share.

ive been doing a jump rope / dumbbell combo workout for several months.

but my jump portion is a ladder: 30, 45, 60, 90, 60, 45, 30. 2 circuits of that before dumbbells.

and a thing i have been working on REALLY hard while jumping is not looking at the timer. just getting in the zone, staring at an object until i hear the buzzer.

if not looking at the timer is a goal of yours, ive found occupying my mind with something really helps.

so heres what ive been doing. i jump like a drummer, doing rudiments with my feet. here are a few to try...

1. double strokes
RRLL RRLL

2. triple strokes
RRRLLL RRRLLL

3. paradiddle (really fun)
RLRR LRLL RLRR LRLL

then to turn it into a ladder, which adds more fun. i do single, double, triple, 4, and 5 stroke up and down, like this...

RL RRLL RRRLLL RRRRLLLL RRRRRLLLLL RRRRLLLL RRRLLL RRLL RL and just keep going up and down.

im trying to add more rudiments in... but seriously, youre so focused on what youre doing with your feet and counting "strokes" you hardly notice the time at all.
