After being on a hiatus for over a year due to a knee injury, I’m finally back and it feels great. I kept my JRD membership because I was determined to get back to what helped me with my physical and mental health.: jumping!

Hi everyone. It’s been so long since I’ve posted or jumped. I haven’t jump since January and consistently since last September after sustaining a patellar tendon tear. I’m not sure when I’ll return to it, but I’m here often to be encouraged by everyone’s posts and progress. I’m looking forward to jumping again one day, as I’ve grieved the loss of my five day a week workout. I didn’t realize how much the workout meant to me until it was taken away.
Anyways, this is just me processing. I’m looking forward to the new JRD handles and potential swag in the future. Take care and Do the Thing!

I’m now at 12 minutes for a session post shoulder surgery. I worked on criss cross training, and my shoulder and bicep responsed well! Jumping is certainly helping with the healing process. 🤙🏻

I had my fourth jump session since shoulder surgery. My goal was to jump for 10 minutes by February and I met that goal today. I will remain at no more than 10 minutes until my body tells me it can handle more. 🤙🏻

I jumped for the first since September prior to shoulder surgery! The physical therapist made it part of recovery plan. I’m so happy I was able to do it’ :)

My physical therapist has released me to jump! He has asked I start out at 15 second intervals for only 1-1.5 mins total and see how my bicep/shoulder does. If there’s not a spike in pain, I’m allowed to gradually move it up every other day. I’m so pumped!!!

Hey, JRD family. I’m almost six weeks post op shoulder surgery. I’m trucking along with physical therapy but still looking at a long recovery.
Brandon shared a video of his weight loss journey when he was injured, so it inspired me to do the same. Since prior to going into surgery to now, I’ve lost 14 lbs by cutting my calories further and keeping my carbs between 50-100. It’s helped speed up the process of my weight loss while I’m limited with physical fitness. I will eventually adjust my macros once I’m released to do more exercises. 🤙🏻

I had my first physical therapy appointment. The therapist asked what I liked to do. Jump rope, of course! He asked what are my goals and I said to take and pass my military physical fitness test and jump rope. He said, “Jumping rope will certainly get your biceps working.” I loved his respect for doing the thing.
Super stoked he’s encouraging my healing to meet those two goals. I can’t wait to start jumping again! I’m now out of my sling and will only wear it as needed. 🤙🏻
