Day 9 - Sleigh the Scale
I think I see Danta Claus in the distance! He's telling me I've been good this year...or to do the thing...or telling me to do more double-unders...or something like that.
Keep going, crew!

Two years ago I discovered JRD on YouTube. I purchased a set of cross ropes and jumped for about 2 months, 3-5x per week. I didn't change my diet and eventually fell off the jump rope wagon.

In the summer of 2021, I joined the Mindset group led by Brandon. I knew I needed coaching, but I was still cynical about my ability actually to follow through on any fitness/diet goals. However, I still took away many valuable lessons from those meetings, and even though the coaching didn't lead to immediate physical results, those lessons brewed in my head for the next 9 months. I still think about many of those insights from Brandon daily.

Fast forward to May 2022. We just had our second baby, and life was more hectic than ever. I told myself that there would never be a 'perfect' time to start getting better. I couldn't wait for life to slow down; I had to just choose what was important to me and then work on it. I went back to those mindset coaching recordings. Then, I started to do the thing.

In the last 97 days, I've jump-roped for at least 30 minutes for 94 of them. I work kettlebells and the weighted vest 3x per week. I eat an animal-based diet and intermittently fast. I've lost 22 lbs during those 97 days. In total, since I discovered JRD, I've lost 40 lbs.

I'm forever grateful to Dan and Brandon for helping me get this snowball started. Even on the days (like today) when I don't feel like doing it, I still choose to get up, go out to the garage, and #dothething.

It hurts and my wife is a bit concerned about my sanity, but after 1 year of jump roping I finally decided to learn how to criss cross jump today! It's hard, and I threw my rope across the room once or twice, but I told myself I wouldn't stop today until I could do it multiple jumps in a row. I finally got 5 in a row. I'm down 40 pounds from 2 years ago. #dothething.
