Hey everybody, I don't know if anyone posted this quote from American Essayist and Poet Ralph Waldo Emerson before, but I only just found this one and thought it was appropriate here. Since the JRD motto is "Do the Thing" and all 😅

"The law of nature is: Do the thing, and you shall have the power, but they who do not the thing have not the power.”

Happy Holidays to everyone! Let's get back to Sleighing the Scale. Do the thing and you shall have the power!

Hey everyone, how are all your workouts going?

I started off JRD MAX Month 3 this week, but ended up having to take today off due to the way my body felt upon waking up from bed this morning (the legs and feet did not like all the jumping). I think I may need to take a few more days to rest up and recover before re-starting Week 1 of Month 3. Always important to listen to your body so you don't injure yourself!

Hi everybody! How's everyone doing on their Jump Rope Journeys? Just thought I'd update with where I'm at. Third week through the Month 2 workouts, and I'm still getting sore legs from the Day 1 workout. For some reason, the soreness was worse this week than it was on Week 2. But, Week 1 is still the worst--the soreness there lasted 3-4 days! I finished the Day 3 workout today (the one with pull ups and chin ups), which means tomorrow's scheduled workout is EMOM (with double unders)!

Haha, just kidding! I'm almost done with Month 2, Week 2 of the JRD MAX program. The workouts felt less grueling to plow through compared to Week 1, except for the EMOM (that's 210 double unders, 420 run in place steps, and 210 jumping jacks all together!). My legs were still sore after Day 1, but I didn't suffer the DOMS over 3 days like last week (it was only one day instead this week).

Been a while since I last did an EMOM workout. I wasn’t expecting this one to go 20+ minutes (not including the 45/15 freestyle jumping before it). I started tripping on the rope doing double unders around halfway through and had to slow down my tempo in order to avoid mess ups. Normally I try to go through an EMOM sequence as fast as possible so that I have more rest within each minute.

I didn’t do them both in one day 😂 I just forgot to mention that I did Day 2 yesterday. And as often happens when I do these workouts, they look easy on paper…then I do them and get exhausted! In yesterday’s case, I gassed out before 2.5 minutes into the workout 😅

Today was Day 3, and just 3 circuits (before the pull-ups/chin-ups) was enough to tire me out too 😅

I could not resist! I really really wanted to do another Jump Rope workout today, so I went ahead and started up the first day of Month 2! It turned out to be a real killer. I was wondering if I could make it through the entire thing once I got to the leg portion of the workout (jumping squats + jumping lunges), haha...my legs are going to feel it tomorrow for sure.

Also, I think part of the reason I got so exhausted was due to the jump rope portion. I do my jump rope workouts outdoors and a little boy saw me today. He cheered me on. So, I decided to add in a few tricks like double unders and criss crosses to impress him, though he was still amazed that I could Boxer Skip for 30 seconds without stopping.

Hi everybody! I've been gone from the community for a week, and was wondering how everyone was doing so far with the program! I ended up behind a week on JRD MAX due to scheduling conflicts and adverse weather. I do my jump rope workouts outside, and we've had some crazy rain storms in my area. Just because I did not jump rope doesn't mean I did not exercise--I just did some Kettlebell workouts instead last week.

There doesn't seem to be any crazy weather this week, so I am taking the opportunity to catch up. Despite being a week off, I managed to do more pull ups in the Day 1 workout than ever before! Looking forward to starting Month 2 next week!

Hi my fellow Jump Rope Dudes and Dudettes! Just checking in and hoping everyone is enjoying this workout program as much as I am! I ended Week 2 with less soreness in my triceps and shoulders compared to Week 1, so I was feeling good for today's workout (Jump Rope, 100 Push-ups, 50 Pull-ups). On the pull-ups front, I find myself able to do a bit more than before, but push-ups have always been my bane! Still stuck with the amount of reps I stayed at last week, but I think I can try for a few more in Week 4!

Hi everybody! Hope you're all doing the thing!

I'm into Week 2 of the JRD Max program. Hopefully the weather holds over here since I do all of my jump rope workouts outside. I had to rearrange some workouts last week due to heavy rain in my area. Second week means second run through of the workouts, which means I modified the amount of push-ups and pull-ups I did for Day 1 based off of how my body reacted to the amount I did last week. Day 2 (Jump Rope ladder) was mostly the same as last week for me. Day 3 is up for me tomorrow!
