I’d like straight jump rope cardio with the 1/4 lb rope for 30-40 minutes so I can burn 300-350 calories in one workout. I do like ladders, but I’d really love to see variation in types of jumps to keep it interesting. Some workouts in JRDMax would transition to different types of jumps within the time block and those were among my favorites because it added an element of fun.

You, like me, are bending your leg backwards at the knee. Whereas it seems Dan lifts his thighs/knees up in front (like a low version of high knees) in the videos. You could try his way-I find I trip less, but it feels more awkward to me so it’s harder to find my flow that way. Could be worth a try, though….

I hope you are doing well out there in Waitsfield. I saw the Mad River was expected to overflow by 1 1/2 feet.

Oh my goodness! My thumb muscles and forearms took a couple days to recover.

I’m glad others noted problems with the video matching the workout plan and how the exercise repetition may not meet the intensity of other workouts. I did this one as a traditional EMOM (every minute on the minute) and didn’t pay attention to the video except for timing. And to get the intensity to the place where I only had 15-20 seconds left to spare in each minute after the exercises and my heart rate was in the 150s, I changed it to: 5 push-ups, 20 high knees, 50 jump rope run in place.

My diet goals have been the same since I started jumping (past 7 months or so). My breakthrough came by understanding how much my body burns in a day. For the longest time I was aiming for eating 1800 calories a day (a little less than the daily recommended 2000 amount). However, my Fitbit said I only burn about 1275 calories on a sedentary day. I thought it had to be wrong. But, once I started working off that number the weight started to come off, albeit slowly. So, now I try to stick to eating 1200 calories a day and workout to burn 300 calories 5 days a week. I splurge a little on weekends.

Way to go on your achievements! And, it sounds like you have achievable goals while also giving yourself grace when things aren’t perfect. Solid plan.

Whoohoo! Many people are in Plyo right now and others (including me) are starting it this week. You’d at least have some virtual workout buddies.

Love that, and it’s so true. Thanks for sharing!
