What Shelly said 😜 I find that if I #dothething in the morning, then I have the afternoon free to do some stretching or mobility exercises. Plus, here in Brisbane (Australia) at this time of the year temperatures are starting to climb, which makes any form of exercise in the afternoons a very unpleasant experience.

Hi JRD Community, the JRD90 program has a pdf called "Workout Safety and Guidelines", in which there are several links. Some of these links are not working, though, such as the four links under the "Exercise Modifications" section. I just get a "not found" page for each of them. Other links, such as those under the "Preventing Injury" section, work fine.

That's encouraging, Aletta. I think I'll just do as you both suggested, which is to listen to my body and stick with the basic bounce for now.

Joe De Luca I’m impressed! By the way, how did you manage to get your “Do. The. Thing” caps deliver to Australia (assuming you live here still)?

Joe De Luca sounds like a plan. Maybe at some stage I’ll invest in another set of handles, but I’ll hit the pause button for now.

That’s great advice! Thanks mate 👍I reckon I’ll do the JRD90 then. I notice that the program requires two ropes, so hopefully 10s is enough time to switch the handles between my 1/4lb rope and my 1/2lb!

Thanks Joe. I'm thinking of moving onto the JRD90 program once I'm done with the 7-Day Beginner program. Would that be a good idea, or would you say that the Power Plyo Jump is a better option at this stage?

I've just completed Day 6 of the 7-Day Beginner Challenge program, and surprisingly I've been able to keep up! Up until this morning I was using a 1/2lb Crossrope, but my 1/4lb arrived yesterday, so I thought I'd give it a go this morning. Being a much lighter rope, I found myself tripping over it quite a bit initially, but then it seemed to settle.

One thing I'd like to ask the brains trust here is whether I should be trying to do the trick jumps at this early stage? Or perhaps the better question is when should I be trying to learn the trick jumps? Should I rather use the regular bounce for a few months before even thinking about the trick jumps?

Baby steps, right? I found a great little interval timer app that I plan on using at this initial stage. I can create my own little routine that would be customised to my current level. For example, initially I could do one set of:

Regular bounce (20s) - Rest (30s) - Squats (20s) - Rest (30s) - Regular bounce (20s) - Rest (30s) - Push Ups (20s) - Rest (30s) - Regular bounce (20s) - Rest (30s) - Planks (20s)

I could then increase the intensity, either by adding a second set, or upping the exercise component from 20s-30s, or by reducing the rest periods.

The idea is that I'd do this tailored program for at least a month before I attempt to do a "full" JRD program.
