Hi team! Checking in! Back on track! I think the Dumbbell Program is the way to go for me. I’m still doing some sprint workouts as well, and walking but overall, comparatively I’ve cut my exercise down immensely from two weeks back. Also, I think I was eating too much! So I took Dan’s no snacking suggestion, that’s been a huge help for me, focusing on well rounded protein rich meals. I’m feeling good, quick, and light again.

How is everyone?

Hey community! Checking in, how is everyone!

Today I opted out of the JRD Max and moved to the dumbbell program. I noticed after a period of weight loss and overall leaning out with the muscle I built last year, something shifted and I gained weight around my lower belly/hips/upper thighs and lost a ton of strength/muscle mass. I look different to myself and not particularly healthy. Also the odd thing is it feels like it happened suddenly. Strength wise was killing it and then Could barely do pull ups on the weekend! This can be for a variety of reasons and nothing to do with the program - very clearly with the results of many of you here. But I’m thinking as a woman in her mid 40’s maybe all the cardio did more harm than good (three day program hint hint). Also I know I overdid it with a gazillion steps and yoga and all the things trying to keep up with my younger self. When I was in my 20’s and thirties my body could handle it. I think Aletta you mentioned something about too much HIIT & hormones?? Anyway I’m still here, hoping to body re-com because I love the skipping and definitely don’t want to go back to heavy lifting. There has to be a middle way! ❤️✨

Finished Day one of the program today. Had to improvise by using plates 2,5 kilos to 10 kilos because the gym I’m at in Paris doesn’t have dumbbells because the neighbors complained of all the slamming! 😭😂🙄😅

Anyway all of this is to say it’s a journey! Sending love and light to you all!

Ps Dan cut his hair! 😝

Hey community!! I’m still on the JRD max, decided to jump in at week two. Although today was day one. Skips were great and managed 80 push-ups . Had some extra energy so swapped the jump squats for burpees and did 8 jumping lunges on each side. Finished with 25 assisted pull ups for fun 🤪💘but I gotta say the challenge workouts look fun so I may swap some or jump in or add depending on energy. I am all over the place right now with a lot of things so at the moment I’m just trying to stay consistent by showing up for myself and my body in some way every day! Hope you’re all smiling out there! Get it done!

Think I’m gonna do the shred challenge beginning tomorrow (Monday!)! After yoga this morning, I was uncertain if I was gonna skip but the ropes were calling! So I did my favorite 30 min burn vid (an old YouTube one but also in the app) and one immediate thing I noticed is I am so much more fit & quicker than I was 3-4 months ago when I first started with the videos on YouTube!!! I had a lot of fun skipping today and even got some props from some onlookers at the gym. Feels good to take care of myself in such a fun way and also be good at something. Still have a lot to learn and there’s soooooo many tricks I want to land but everything in time. Sending love to all of yooooouuuusss

Hi all! I’m still here! Been a while, but thought I’d say hi! Definitely out of my skipping rhythm. When I was London I didn’t skip 🙈but I did go running each morning which was super enjoyable for me (I love a good city run). So now that I’m home I need to get back on my JRD!!! Today I finally completed week one of Month 2 with the HIIT/Cardio Day 5 vid. Obviously not completed consecutively. I think next week I might start again or checkout the July Shred Challenge if it isn’t too late. Hope you’re all taking care of yourselves and having fun! Love from Amsterdam ❤️

I’m back! And feeling great. Completed Day 2 over the weekend and Day 3 today. Also got my first 5k in 1,5 years in! The summer has finally arrived in Amsterdam so it was easy to wake up early the last mornings to get my sessions in. Also today, I tried a fasted workout and it went well! Time to cool down and replenish. Have a great day all!
Ps yesterday someone couldn’t believe I was past my 30’s! 🥰 pretty sure it’s the ropes 🤪

Month 2, Day 1 on a Thursday is better than no Day 1 at all!
I’ve needed to take a bit more rest this week than I’m used to which likely only means that I’ve taken rest like I’m supposed to. Finding balance is still something I’m working on in my life, inside and outside of the gym.

When I’m not jumping rope, I’m working hard to advance my art career. I am used to pushing the limits of what I’m told Ican do.

Today I made 85 push ups and did some extra explosive squats and lunges… but for some reason I thought we were doing pull ups too so I was really trying to save some steam for that.

As my trip to London is next week, I may repeat week one when I get back, and just do what I can do between now and when I leave — while staying consistent.

Here’s a sweaty Me and my current work in progress. Hope it brightens your day.

Keep killing it fam ☺️
