I'm currently doing the JRD Jump Rope and Dumbbell program for similar reasons (not wanting to lose too much of the muscle and strength I gained from when I was on a break from jump rope workouts). It's a 90-day workout program, so 12 weeks instead of 10.

It's not designed for muscle-building, but more for muscle toning and muscular endurance. You're still gonna burn fat on it though with all the high-intensity jump rope cardio. And a proper High Protein diet, of course. Diet/Nutrition is the biggest thing when it comes to weight control, even moreso than exercise.

I just try to use a bit heavier weights than what Dan recommends using for the dumbbell portions of the workouts 😅

I would suggest listening to your body. There’s no need to strictly follow the schedule

How was Day 4? That one was memorable for me even though I did JRD90 years ago because of all the burpees and Dan being as tired as I was feeling...then came the pull-ups and I was like, "Heck no!"

Definitely an important topic to cover, especially for older folks and people who are injury-prone! It's no fun not being able to jump rope for weeks or months because of an injury (which happened to me)

Hi Neil! Sounds like we're following the same schedule. I also finished Week 2 Day 5 on Sunday. I opted take Monday as a rest day, and wait until Tuesday to start back on Day 1 again. Just finished Week 3 Day 3 today myself when I saw your post!

Looking good, dude.

Replying on Sunday. Saturday was actually a busy day for me so I took it as a "rest day" in my workout schedule. I did get in my jump rope workout for the day when I woke up this morning though so there is that!

Tendinitis is no joke. It kept me out of being able to jump rope for months. Congratulations on reaching Month 2

Aletta Armee I’m taking it easy this time to avoid injury. As much as I can do a lot of double unders I find that I injure my Achilles tendon when doing them now. So, that is a jump rope move I have avoided doing in my workouts. I just substitute “jump rope sprint” instead

Welcome back! It’s good to see other returning jumpers since it’s also been months since I last did a jump rope workout
