Just Did Month 1 Day 3 of JRD Max. Started the pull-up sets and immediately I could feel my right pec straining in a way that I now know means, "cut it out." I subbed in bent-over rows and butterflies with 20-pound weights each time which did not strain it. Seemed a good substitute and could probably up to 25 lbs. BUT today will be the day that I finally listen to all of you telling me to buy the damn pull-up band. Joe, Lindsay, Steve: You only had to mention it roughly 572 times before I finally listened haha. You can lead a horse to water, I guess. This horse eventually gets there, but it takes me a while!! : )

I'm tracking my calories and nutrition on MyFitnessPal again. I don't use a Woop or an Apple Watch or any kind of fitness tracker, so I'm just plugging in a guess for calories burned in a JRD Max workout. Would you say that guessing 300 calories burned is a safe guess each day? I know it's different for every person and it's not an exact science, but I just want to be in the right ballpark and be a little conservative. 300 sound good? Less? More? Any thoughts? Thanks, gang!

Started JRD Max today now that my pec and shoulder have fully recovered. I can crush cardio all day at this point, and my push-ups are on point. But wow those pull-ups. I am still scared of ripping up my pec again, so I did 3 inverse pull-ups for each set, making sure I was as slow and controlled as I could be. We'll see how my pec feels later. Keeping an eye on it. Wanna conquer these workouts, but pull-ups are the thing that keeps me humble! (And they also make me kinda mad tbh haha.) Let's do it!

Just did this workout with Brandon from the YouTube parking lot days. He uses the 1-pounder for the entire workout. I used it every third time, using the 1/2-pound rope every other time and it still killed me. Cardio-wise I got this! But strength-wise...oof. Looking forward to jumping into JRD-Max on Monday, and am also going to start using MyFitnessPal again to track calories since I've been the same weight now for a few months and really want to focus on losing these last few belly pounds. If I never lost them, honestly it would be fine. I'm feeling so fit and I'm at a great weight for me. But...wouldn't it be nice to have a six-pack for the first time in my life and to be the guy who runs shirtless all summer? : )

Looking forward to starting JRD Max on Monday. In the meantime, I'm still skipping around doing different workouts that hit muscle groups I want to hit from the WODs or from other programs. Today I did the EMOM from month 3 JRD Max. Fun one! Funny enough, the thing I found the hardest were the ab-crunchers. Had to keep my feet on the ground for the last two sets of them! Doh! Otherwise...did great! Have a great day, friends!

Arrived back to Vermont from LA at 1:30 this morning. Crazy tired but you know what perks you right up? A double-under gauntlet with our pal Dan! Planning to re-start JRD Max on Monday. Pec and shoulder back at 100%. Woohoo! Let’s go!

Been running instead of jumping on my LA trip as I haven’t found a great jumping spot near my hotel. But having a great time, am running 4 miles in the gorgeous weather every morning. Back to jumping when I’m back home on Wednesday. ❤️

Beautiful morning here. After a fun WOD, I tried the “flight simulator” again. Got up the ladder to 35 and back in 9:26 but messed up one set and didn’t repeat it. Also hit my shoe a couple of times and I think that’s a foul? Will try it again tomorrow and see if I can do it cleanly. Then I’ll try to get to 40 on the ladder. It’s tough!

Back in the concrete jungle for a few days. Did a WOD and then tried the “flight simulator” Steve mentioned. Only did the ladder up to 30 and back. Next time will go to 35 or 40. It’s fun to try! Have a great day, peeps! 👍🏻😸🤓
