Struggling a bit mentally this week. Letting myself get frustrated by the things I haven’t mastered rather than focusing on all the amazing gains I’ve made. So let’s switch it up and list some gains:

  1. One-minute intervals with the half-pound rope used to be daunting. Now it’s easy.
  1. Three weeks ago couldn’t do a single DU. Now doing them every day.
  1. 20 push-ups four times in one workout used to be tough. Now no big whoop.
  1. Three weeks ago I could not do one pull-up. Now can do 1.5 plus negatives.

Sorry for long post. My post-workout therapy session! 😎🤓

Not sure why this felt like such a struggle today, but got it done and executed well. Onward we go, peeps!

Practiced DUs over the weekend. PR with no mess-ups is 30, down to two small hops between from three. Can do between 13 and 15 in each 20-second interval here. Messed up only twice! Like Sharon, I’m sweating like crazy. Hurts so good! Gonna see if I can break my record now. 💪✌🏻🤪

Broke my PR of DUs with no mess-ups, still with three little hops between each. Did 22 twice in a row. Did more than 75 total. Fun to think two weeks ago I couldn’t do one DU at all. Trying to conquer my pull-up bar now!!! Have a great weekend, everyone! Gonna go dunk myself in the river before work. ✌🏻💪😎

After the workout I practiced my DUs for about 25 minutes. Tied my best of 20 with no mess-ups multiple times but never did 21 lol. Oh well. Feels like my form and confidence improved. And I literally did hundreds of DUs today burning a ton of calories. Now to hit the showers and get respectable looking for a meeting. Later, taters! ✌🏻💪🤓

Very early morning flight back to Vermont this morning, so had to work out in the late afternoon, which I hate. Still did not break my record of 20 DUs with no mess-ups, but did 75 in all. The milestones for today: Scale under 180 for the first time, down from 195 when I first dared weigh myself back in March. Honestly I don't have that much more weight to lose at 6' tall. That feels amazing. Other milestone is that I did a real pull-up! Ha. Doing negative ones for the rest of the circuit until I can do more. But that felt like progress. We are all getting fitter every day. Let's do it!

Beautiful breeze and beautiful view of downtown Manhattan from my apartment’s rooftop. Fun place to workout. Matched my best DUs at 20 (still little hops between) but I am no longer intimidated and find them a lot of fun. Did 57 total. Now to work! Working out is way more fun than work! 🤷🏻‍♂️✌🏻😎

Me on a park bench panting after today’s workout in Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Did about 3/4ths of the DU sets with no mess-ups. Really needed the rest to come back strong. Only problem not messing up is that I’m panting like a dog after each set, especially since it’s hot and humid here even at 7AM. Get it, peeps! 💪😎💪😎

Defeated by the DUs today. I have a massive bruise on my left forearm where the rope whips me when I mess up and I just couldn’t get it going today. It killed when I’d mess up so I stopped. Otherwise workout done. My body def needs the rest days. Feeling a little torn up!!

Completed four of the 15 DU segments with no mess-ups. Not huge improvement today but definitely improvement. Going to practice a bit now and see if I can best my record of 15. Want to get to 25 with no mess-ups and then try consecutive DUs.
