I’ve been doing IF for a couple years now. It takes a little time to get into the swing of things. I also log my meals in My Fitness Pal. It makes it so much easier to be aware of your intake, calories, macros, exercise, etc. One other trick that works when I’m struggling with hunger near noon is to have have something hot like coffee or tea. At least for me it helps with the hunger pangs.
