Maybe can't see it but there's sweat going on here!

OK Steve, you've tried to talk me into doing Ninja and I was too timid. But all the post  lately and your encouragement have inspired us to step out and do it instead of finishing the 60 day challenge. Next weeks work schedule is crazy but a 4 day break might do some good.

I am starting to see little changes physically and also in my fitness level. My cardio score on my Fit Bit bumped up a point and my heart rate is starting to come down quicker.

I love that I can get nearly the same results jumping rope w/body weight exercises as I did when I was running and doing body weight exs. And I don't have to drive 20 mins to get to a trail. DO THE THING!

I really liked the recent  short on YouTube with the audio clip from Jordan Peterson.  I used to tell my kids, "6 months (or whatever length of time) is going to go by no matter what. Where do you want to be at the end of it?" I have to remind myself of that too.

My shin splints (inside) are really hurting after a jump workout. If I rest them I'm afraid  I will only be able to jump every other week instead of every other day. I'm just getting my momentum going and don't want to stop. Do I just jump through them anyway?

I've started wearing a compression sock, icing after a workout and doing some gua sha (scrapping) therapy.

This is a 180 from two years ago when I hated jumping. Guess not everyone has love at first jump. Today the running in place just happened. It felt so good! My hubby has not been able to do anything but regular bounce. Today he finally got his feet to work separately.  Not sure what he was doing, but it was something😄.

Last thing. The 60 Day Challeng has 20 videos which means I go through them 3 times, right? If I can only jump 3 times a week it will take me longer. That's OK right?

Thanks, guys, for letting me post and putting up with me. I don't know anybody here who gets it.

So if you have to take a few days or a week or so off for sickness or slight injury, does anyone have a less intense workout that you start back in with? Or do you just jump back in the middle of things? And how should I handle shin splints? They just keep coming back.

After my high yesterday of finishing my first month, today's workout was terrible. Kept tripping on the rope, couldn't breath, and my shin splints starting g hurting. Was supposed to do three rounds but only did two. GRRRR.

So the month didn't start out great but this is the most consistent I've been in over a year with injuries and other stuff. I am actually starting to look forward to my workouts and that hasn't happened in more than a year either.  I know there is room for improvement. I think I'm going to start trying to add a day of jumping. Maybe do Mon, Tues,  Wed,  Fri.

I Have lost weight and been in shape before by doing body weight exercises and cardio and even run some 5ks. But jumping rope seems to be a different animal. I feel like a total beginner!! I don't know what has happened but I am starting to love jumping.

I'm watching other people jump and it looks so smooth and effortless. I think I am  fighting the rope especially when I try some basic tricks. That will come with time, right? Any tips?

 I found out I can't jump 3 mins consecutively 🥴

So I wasn't going to post again until the end of the month, but.......     I DID IT! I just did 5 rounds of 30/10 alternating jumps with body weight using the 1 and 2 pound ropes. The 2 pounder through me around at first but with a small double jump I tamed it😁. Had to rest a time or two extra but my heart is pounding and adrenaline is pumping. I had forgotten what this felt like. Not bragging just super proud of myself. I think that's ok to say here?

 I'm hooked!

BTW my husband will turn 60 next month. He calls himself a JRoD or jay rod (Jump Rope old Dude) He's killing it too.

I had a rough start to the month. I really didn't think I could do this and was a bit discouraged. Then it was like a switch flipped and I thought, OK, I CAN do this. This week I walked Sunday, jumped rope Mon, Wed, Thurs, light weights on Tues. Probably walk today. And getting my eating under control again.

I'm reading all your posts and seeing how you all handle set backs. Thanks for posting the ugly with the good. It helps to know you guys dont kill it all the time🙂. I'll let you know how the month ends.
