When I was doing the JRD Max program I did the warm up which leads off each video. Now, I’m doing Shredded Ninja and there is a suggested warm up. I’ve combined both programs’ warm ups to create one that has it all - a little bit of cardio (jumping jacks), arm stretches, strength (push ups) abs and legs (squats and lunges). And, if I feel I need it-calf stretches.

I second Beginner program 1-2x, easing into it and then JRD Max.

Douglas Stewart I had my own workout buddies today, though not as intimidating as yours. They were entranced (and maybe a little frightened) by the noise of the rope. The Vermont critters are out. 😁🦌🐻

I bought 5 pairs of compression socks and wear them with every workout. At one point I thought maybe I had moved past shin splints and stopped wearing the socks for a week, but they returned.

There were times I got whipped a lot, especially in the beginning or while learning a new trick. I found wearing athletic clothing with more coverage helped lessen the pain. It’s smart to switch it up like you did if it gets to be too much. Jumping rope shouldn’t be consistently painful.
